JM #1:A few mornings ago Jacinta took her sweet old time getting dressed and downstairs for morning devotions. When she finally did get down, she arrived on the scene dressed in ripped jeans, a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, and a Notre Dame hat on backwards. She jumped the last stair and landed, pointing her cross-bow at us, giving what sounded like a battle cry.

Then, later, we were trying to shoot Nerf guns at a bullseye on the whiteboard. She held her own and got 41 points.

Even later, she came panting in from outside and said, "It's freezin' hot out there!"
JM#4That night (the 7th) Jacinta was sitting downstairs with us. I was desperately trying to finish the science worksheet for my online class (due by 12am), but Jacinta talked me into playing Tic Tac Toe. I won the first game, and she drew out another set of lines. She looked at me seriously and said, "This time, try not to win."
So, I obediently left open the space for her to get 3 in a row. She chose instead to block me. It was a cat's game. My mom said, "Choo choo, you could have won that game!"
Jacinta: I know that.

Yesterday morning we were sitting down to a breakfast of pancakes and Jacinta sighed despairingly and said, "It would be fun if I could sleep at night without the dog howling."
(We have never heard our dog howl.)

To Elena the Guest Writer: this post is just delightful. Thank you for the smile and the reassurance that my Angela is not the only one who acts in the "unique" way that she does.
To the blog hostess: your choice of music, while startling at 4:00 a.m., is perfect.
We have some girls here, too, who march or step or pounce to the beat of their own drum!
Let's hear it for their creativity!
Rock on for the "Born to be Wild" girls - in Moms and daughters alike!!!
Hilarious!!
