The Principal Virtues of Mary

From True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary by St Louis de Montfort:

True devotion to our Lady is holy, that is, it leads us to avoid sin and to imitate the virtues of Mary. Her ten principal virtues are:

deep humility,
lively faith,
blind obedience,
unceasing prayer,
constant self-denial,
surpassing purity,
ardent love,
heroic patience,
angelic kindness,
and heavenly wisdom.

Why not choose just one to imitate today?

Today I choose unceasing prayer. Thank you, Diane, for reminding me of the beauty of The True Devotion and the virtues of Mary!

God Bless you!

I love this list. It is probably my favorite part of True Devotion!

In another translation constant self-denial is universal mortification. (I guess I just picked my virtue to practice:)

That is beautiful. But which one to choose? It's my first visit and I'm glad I came. I choose lively faith. It sounds intriguing and is probably more of a challenge than it sounds. We'll see. Love, Bridget
