I'm going to be extra greedy and ask you to pray that he finds a job locally. Then they won't have to worry about selling their house or leaving an area they love, and I won't have to worry about letting them go. My sister and I are the best of friends, and our kids are just as close. They played a huge role in our decision to settle here. Given Brian's career field, it seems unlikely that he will be able to find a local job. But I know our God has an amazing plan for their family and that He can and does still work miracles.
I'm begging Him for my plan and trusting Him with His.
A Prayer for Employment
God, our Father, we turn to you seeking your divine help and guidance as Brian looks for suitable employment. He needs your wisdom to guide his footsteps along the right path and to lead him to find the proper things to say and do in this quest. He wishes to use the gifts and talents you have given him, but he needs the opportunity to do so with gainful employment. Do not abandon him, dear Father, in this search, but rather grant him this favor we seek so that he may return to you with praise and thanksgiving for your gracious assistance. Grant this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

My husband would have come home with a pink slip on Tuesday had it not been for a manager in another department who recognized the value of Husband's work ethic and intelligence and asked for him to be transferred to an open position in his department instead. We had no idea that this could have happened. So we will offer our prayers for your BIL along with our Thanksgiving prayers for Husband's continued employment. And I see nothing wrong with specifying "local" employment!:)
In what field is your husband's work?
Maura, my brother-in-law is a sheet metal mechanic, who has maintained and repaired planes for over twenty years.
Charlotte, what a relief that your husband was able to transfer his position---I'll send up a prayer of thanksgiving with you! Thank you for your prayers for my bil.
Praying greedily!
Praying!!
Hello Diane! Sorry about my last question. My usual bedtime is 9pm! My brain really doesn't work after that. Last night was my first time on your blog site. I was asking what field because I thought maybe my husband could be of help if there was a fit but he is in the computer field. He is always looking for good Catholic men who have a great work ethic such as your brother-in-law. May God bless your families!
Praying, through the intercession of St. Joseph.
Peace,
Sara
Oh my gosh - Steve got laid off on his birthday this year, too (Zug 31).
He's working again but making $1000 less per month!
We will TOTALLY keep your bil and family in our prayers!
Woops - meant to type - Aug 31 instead of Zug 31!
What can you say?
Gotta love the computer field!
